Personal Statement

I am a pediatric oncologist who treats children with blood cancer, both leukemia and lymphoma. Because the diagnosis of cancer and treatment are alarming and completely disruptive to the lives of children and their families, I stand by them every step of the way. No question, call, or cry is too small or left unaddressed.

In addition, my work includes research, identifying novel targeted therapies for pediatric patients whose leukemia is difficult to treat or has returned after initial treatment. I firmly believe that every family should have options when first-line treatment fails, and my goal is to make that happen.
