About Kathryn Dean, M.D.
Kathryn Dean, M.D is a radiologist specializing in emergency and neurologic imaging. She is an Assistant Professor at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ and Assistant Attending Radiologist at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus.
Dr. Dean earned her B.S. in biology summa cum laude from Denison University in 2007. Subsequently, she earned her M.D. from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2012. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society in 2011.
Following an internship at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Illinois, Dr. Dean completed her residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center with specialized musculoskeletal imaging training at the Hospital for Special Surgery. She served as chief resident from 2016-2017. She completed her fellowship training in Neuroradiology at Weill Cornell prior to joining the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Radiology in August 2018.
Dr. Dean’s clinical expertise lie in musculoskeletal and neurologic imaging. She interprets a variety of studies including xray, CT, US, and MRI and she performs interventional procedures including lumbar punctures and myelograms. Dr. Dean’s research focuses on advanced MR techniques in neurodegenerative disorders and on optimizing interventional approaches. She is also involved in quality and safety improvement initiatives. In addition to clinical and research activities, Dr. Dean is an active and involved teacher of residents, fellows, and medical students.
