Biographical Info

Dr. Liang Shen is a board-certified anesthesiologist with subspecialization in critical care medicine. He provides anesthesia for patients in the operating rooms or various procedural suites, cares for patients in the postanesthesia care unit (PACU), and manages critically-ill patients in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit (CTICU).

Dr. Shen received his undergraduate degree from Duke University, and concurrently earned his M.D. and M.P.H. degrees from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He completed residency training in anesthesiology as well as a clinical fellowship in critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore.

Dr. Shen is active in and maintains leadership positions in various national and international organizations for critical care and anesthesiology. His academic interests lie in critical care education, curriculum development for postgraduate physicians, and simulation education. He has served as a director of the Anesthesiology Clerkship for medical students at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Associate Program Director for the Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship. He is the Anesthesiology Director of the Skills Acquisition and Innovation Laboratory (SAIL) simulation center, responsible for overseeing all traditional, high-fidelity simulation training in the Department of Anesthesiology.
