About Matthew Nelligan, M.D.
I find my work in the pediatric intensive care unit both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Every day I am amazed by the specialized skills of our interdisciplinary team that provides such excellent care for our patients. I feel privileged to accompany and advocate for critically ill children and their families during their most vulnerable times in our unit.
Dr. Matthew Nelligan is an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ and an assistant attending pediatrician at NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Nelligan earned his undergraduate degree (B.S.) from the University of Notre Dame with honors and his medical degree (M.D.) from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine with research honors. He subsequently moved to New York City to complete his pediatric residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. He continued his training by completing a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. Dr. Nelligan’s specific clinical interest includes the care of neonates and children after cardiac surgery. His research interests focus on decision-making and communication with families surrounding the utilization of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the pediatric intensive care unit.
