Get Enough Vitamin D to Reduce Your Risk of Cancer, Physician Says
Dr. Allyson Ocean shared one way to prevent cancer  for Prevention magazine. Her advice: Get enough vitamin D.
Dr. Ocean — an associate attending physician and the Anne Moore M.D. Clinical Scholar in Hematology-Oncology at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ as well as an associate attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center — was one of 10 cancer specialists profiled in the article, which asked physicians what steps they take to lower their risk of cancer.
"Low levels [of vitamin D] are associated with the development of many cancers, so I make sure mine are adequate," Dr. Ocean told the magazine, adding, "The best way to get a healthy daily dose of vitamin D is to do something active outside every day."
