About Paul Dennis Simonson, M.D., Ph.D.
I enjoy being a member of the faculty at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ and the opportunity it gives me to serve others. I aim to provide high quality patient care while also improving care through research.
Dr. Simonson is a practicing hematopathologist who joined Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ in July of 2020 as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. He completed his M.D. and Ph.D. in the Medical Scholars Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His graduate work in Physics was focused primarily on single-molecule and super-resolution fluorescence imaging. He went on to complete residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and a fellowship in Hematopathology at the University of Washington. Dr. Simonson completed an additional research year in Hematopathology wherein he focused on techniques in multiparametric imaging in tissue, and machine learning approaches to improve clinical flow cytometry.
