Regenerative Medicine and Orthobiologic Treatments from Our Leading Experts
At 鶹ý, our team offers the most advanced and comprehensive regenerative medicine treatment options. Our team of doctors is committed to discussing all of your options with you so that you understand your options and feel confident in making decisions about your care.
Regenerative medicine and orthobiologic treatment options include:
Extracorporeal shockwave therapy: Injured muscles, tendons and ligaments or localized pain may benefit from this therapy that uses pressure waves to the area to reduce pain and promote healing. Typically, each session lasts about 10 to 15 minutes and about three to five sessions over several weeks are needed to achieve the benefits.
Prolotherapy injections: During this procedure, painful or injured ligaments, tendons or joint spaces are injected with a mixture of lidocaine (a pain-relieving and nerve-numbing medication) and a concentrated dextrose solution (natural irritant). Over the course of several weeks, the injection helps promote healing and lessen pain.
Platelet-rich plasma injection: Platelets are the first cells to arrive at the site of an injury to promote the healing process. Plasma is the liquid portion of the blood. During platelet-rich plasma injections, the patient’s own blood is drawn and processed in a special laboratory device that separates the platelets from the rest of the blood. The injury or site of pain is then injected with these concentrated platelets to promote faster healing. This can be used in tendinopathy, partial or full thickness tendon or ligament tears, mild to moderate osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease.
Minimally invasive tendon pain treatment with Tenex device: Using this patented technology, this minimally invasive device can help precisely target damaged and painful tissue, which helps shorten the recovery time and speed healing of tendonopathy.
Bone marrow aspirate concentrate therapy: Bone marrow is the part of the body where blood is produced. Bone marrow aspirate concentrate is fluid-containing cells that have been extracted (removed) from the bone marrow. It is then injected into the affected area(s) of the body to help reduce pain and expedite healing.
Adipose-derived therapy: Adipose tissue is made up of adipocyte cells (fat cells). Adipose cells can be extracted (removed) from your body with a minimally invasive procedure. The cells are then injected into the body to speed healing and repair, as well as lessen pain.
