About Suzanne Straebler, Ph.D., PMH-BC
Suzanne Straebler, PhD, PMH-BC, is a research associate in psychiatry and a certified cognitive behavior therapist. She has extensive experience in developing and implementing evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, particularly enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-E) and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT-ED). Dr. Straebler is the director of clinical care for the eating disorder partial hospital program and the outpatient specialty clinic at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ and NewYork-Presbyterian.
Dr. Straebler earned her doctoral degree in psychiatry from the University of Oxford, UK, and her MSN from Yale University. She has received prestigious fellowships, including the Eating Disorder Summer Research Fellowship at the Eating Disorder Clinical and Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University and the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy student scholarship. Before joining Weill Cornell/NewYork-Presbyterian, she served as a Senior Research Clinician at the internationally recognized Centre for Research on Eating Disorders at Oxford University. During her time at Oxford, she received specialized training in evidence-based treatments for eating disorders and contributed to the cognitive behavioral therapy treatment manual for these disorders.
Her current research and clinical interests focus on increasing access to treatment for all individuals with eating disorders, particularly those from historically underrepresented groups in eating disorder research, and developing online versions of these therapies. She has trained therapists worldwide in these evidence-based practices and serves on the Academy for Eating Disorders Training Initiative Taskforce, working to ensure the effective dissemination of treatments across diverse communities.
