About Tammy Ju, M.D.
I am an assistant professor of clinical surgery and a breast surgical oncologist practicing at New York Presbyterian Queens Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ in Flushing, NY. I believe in patient centered care with a focus on joint decision making with the patient in treating their breast disease. I work in multi-disciplinary settings to provide the best possible care for patients and educate patients on all options available. Each patient is an individual and I aim to tailor cancer care best suited for each person and their needs. I am thrilled to be working at New York Presbyterian Queens Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ in the New York area where I can serve a diverse patient population and participate in breast cancer research to continue advancing the field of breast surgical oncology.
Dr. Tammy Ju is a fellowship trained Breast Surgical Oncologist practicing at New York-Presbyterian Medical Group Queens located in Flushing, NY.
She received her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed her residency in General Surgery at George Washington University and spent a year doing a research fellowship in general surgery. She completed additional fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at Stanford University.
Dr. Ju is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and specializes in the field of breast disease including benign and malignant conditions for women and men, with a focus on the surgical management of breast cancer. She performs nipple-sparing and skin-sparing mastectomies, oncoplastic breast surgery, lumpectomies with or without wires, breast biopsies, and axillary lymph node biopsies and dissections.
Dr. Ju's research interests include clinical outcomes related to breast surgery, has added experience in staged nipple-sparing mastectomy to help women reduce ischemic complications related to mastectomy, and has published on breast cancer health disparities research. Dr. Ju has participated in medical and surgical mission trips internationally to Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. She has published articles in journals such as Annals of Surgical Oncology, the Breast Journal, and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons. She has presented at local, regional, and national meetings and has been an invited author and commentator with regards to new technologies and advancements in the field of breast surgical oncology. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, serves on the Society of Surgical Oncology Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, is an active member of the New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
